Our Awareness Team

Under our mission “Sparc is aware”, we established the “Awareness Team” where teamwork is at the forefront. We established our team including members from other robotic teams, thinking that it would both reach more people and strengthen our relations with other robotic teams. While forming our team, we carried out a process consisting of two sessions. In the first session, we presented an informative presentation on the environmental hazards of mask use and asked the participants to think of ideas that could be solutions to the problems we presented until the second session. In the second session, we shared ideas. 

The team started with 4 people from our SPARC team and after the second session of the formation process, 12 people from Robin, FMWill and Kaiser teams joined the team. 

The Awareness Team was formed in February 2021 and their main project was the Mask Collection Machine project. Then we developed our mask machine idea and looked for ways to recycle masks. After our research, we came to a common idea that waste masks can be melted under the necessary sterilization conditions and turned into plastic parts with various uses. 

As a result of this idea, we started collecting waste masks in a box at our school. When we reached a sufficient number of masks, we melted them and used the part we obtained in our 2022 robot. By supporting our unstable chassis with this part, we were able to find a common point in the mechanical field of our team with ecological awareness.
